When pages of theory flutter in the wind of practice, and the ivory tower of academia connects with the fertile ground of enterprise, a journey of growth, exploration, and inheritance quietly begins under the early autumn sun.
On September 11th, 55 students from the College of Water Resources and Civil Engineering of China Agricultural University, led by Professors Liu Zhidan, Tong Qin, Duan Na, and Wang Xinfeng, visited Big Herdsman for a field internship. This was not a chance encounter, but a warm continuation of years of deep friendship between the university and the enterprise—a vivid example of industry-academia collaboration.
Looking back, the collaboration between the College and Big Herdsman has long been forged into a solid foundation over the years. Over the years, the College has regarded Big Herdsman as a vital base for practical education and an integral part of talent development. This trust and choice stem from Big Herdsman’s strength and commitment in the industry.
summer internships to co-launching scientific projects, both sides have built a collaborative model of “resource sharing, complementary strengths, and coordinated development.” With an open attitude, Big Herdsman bridges the gap between academia and industry, allowing students to experience the pulse of the field and the strength of hands-on innovation.
“Theoretical knowledge remains shallow until put into practice.” Armed with classroom knowledge, students stepped into Big Herdsman’s Smart Technology Center and production workshops for an immersive learning experience.
Guided by experts Leng Jianwei, Li Aihua, Shen Pan, and Liu Jintao, students closely observed the production processes of modern agricultural equipment. From efficient livestock systems إلى eco-friendly waste management, every detail deepened their understanding of applied agri-tech.
Students and teachers also held discussions with Big Herdsman engineers and alumni.
Liu Jintao discussed Big Herdsman’s approach to emission challenges and shared its growth and international expansion. Alumni Zhan Yu and Shen Pan shared their transition from university to workplace, encouraging students to value internships and hone practical and creative skills.
Professors Tong Qin and Wang Xinfeng addressed the group, followed by a closing summary from Liu Zhidan, hoping the visit would inspire and prepare students for future careers.
This internship was not only a fusion of knowledge and practice but also an empowering opportunity for students’ future development.
