Introduction:
Amid the scorching winds and the dynamic agricultural ambitions of Oman, Big Herdsman has joined forces with the country’s leading livestock enterprise to create an integrated layer farming project with a capacity of 400,000 laying hens and 100,000 pullets. Currently, two modern layer houses are operating at full capacity, while the pullet house is in the final stages of commissioning. This advanced farming base, combining cutting-edge design and intelligent management, is rapidly taking shape in the Middle East.
Part 01
Scientific Breakthroughs Under Extreme Heat
Addressing the unique challenges posed by Oman’s extreme climate, where temperatures can exceed 50°C, Big Herdsman has developed a customized system solution tailored to client needs and site conditions. The single-story, 100,000-bird layer house features a design without a second-floor structure, paired with Big Herdsman’s customized ventilation system. This precise environmental control ensures both bird health and optimal egg production, overcoming the dual challenges of high temperatures and efficiency.
Part 02
Comprehensive Biosecurity Protection
To meet the highest international standards, the project design strictly separates clean and contaminated areas, implementing a closed-loop management system that ensures the complete segregation of personnel, products, and waste. This holistic approach minimizes biosecurity risks, reflecting Big Herdsman’s unwavering commitment to biosecurity excellence.
Part 03
Intelligent Feeding and Seamless Egg Collection
The project features dual feed silos capable of supplying feed for an entire week, guaranteeing precise and efficient feeding. Additionally, the central egg collection line seamlessly connects to the client’s existing infrastructure, integrating new and old farming zones without disruption. This streamlined process accelerates production expansion, enabling the client to seize market opportunities with greater agility.
Conclusion
As the partnership with Omani clients deepens, Big Herdsman will continue to empower Middle Eastern agriculture with innovative farming technologies. By creating replicable smart farming models, we aim to contribute to the development of agriculture along the Belt and Road Initiative corridor.
