Recently, the list of approved projects under Shandong’s Rural Revitalization Science and Technology Innovation Boost Action Plan was officially announced. After rounds of review and selection, the project “Integration and Demonstration of Smart Hog Production and Precision Environmental Control Technology,” led by Big Herdsman Machinery (Jiaozhou) Co., Ltd., stood out and was successfully approved! This marks an key point achievement for the company in deepening its explore in livestock equipment and pursuing technological innovation, as well as an important opportunity to promote greener and more efficient development in the hog industry.
As an project unions who is undertaking, Big Herdsman has cooperated with four core research institutions—the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences Institute of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Shandong Agricultural University, the Yantai Research Institute of China Agricultural University, and the Shandong Provincial Agricultural Machinery Technology Extension Station—to establish an integrated collaboration team spanning industry, academia, research, and extension. Together, they aim to breakthrough industry pain points and jointly set a new benchmark for intelligent hog farming.
The project which has a period of 3 years, aims to address key challenges in current hog farming such as delayed disease prevention and control, extensive input management, inefficient environmental regulation, and inadequate technological coordination. It would concentrate on four core areas: a swine disease and green safety prevention and control system, an intelligent hog feeding system, forward-looking smart hog house environmental control technology, and a digital twin-based integrated management system for hog farming. Key technological research, development, and integrated demonstration will be carried out in these fields.
