Big Herdsman has established multiple R&D platforms, including the “Shandong Provincial Enterprise Technology Center,” “Shandong Provincial ‘One Enterprise, One Technology’ R&D Center,” “Qingdao Technology Innovation Center for Livestock Automation and Intelligent Breeding Equipment,” “Qingdao Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Stereo Farming Technology and Equipment,” and the “Qingdao Expert Workstation for Automated Layer Cage Rearing.”

Furthermore, leveraging these innovation platforms, the company maintains close partnerships with numerous universities and research institutions, including China Agricultural University, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Zhejiang University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Northeast Agricultural University, Shandong Agricultural University, Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Qingdao Agricultural University. In recent years, Big Herdsman has deeply participated in and led several national and provincial scientific research projects. These include 2 key national R&D programs from the 13th and 14th Five-Year Plans, 4 projects such as the Shandong Provincial Key R&D Plan, Rural Revitalization initiatives, Agricultural Industry System projects, and the Zhejiang Integration project, as well as 3 Qingdao Science & Technology for Public Benefit projects.
Covering critical fields like intelligent on-demand feeding, precise environmental control, and biosecurity prevention, these efforts have established a comprehensive R&D and innovation system for healthy livestock, poultry, and aquaculture farming technologies.
To date, Big Herdsman and its subsidiaries have achieved substantial intellectual property outcomes, holding 403 authorized patents (including 56 invention patents, 280 utility model patents, and 67 design patents) and 27 software copyrights.
The company has also led or participated in the formulation and revision of 21 industry, association, and local standards. This forms a robust IP layout and constructs a solid technological barrier.
