Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released the list of Key Enterprise Laboratories. Three companies nominated by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs were selected, including the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Livestock and Poultry Breeding Equipment (affiliated with Qingdao Big Herdsman Machinery Co., Ltd.).

Qingdao Big Herdsman Machinery Co., Ltd. is committed to achieving independent control over breeding facilities and equipment. The company conducts research on animal welfare-based breeding models, explores multi‑information sensing and digital control technologies, and independently develops integrated smart equipment such as environmental controllers and precision feeding devices. These efforts have broken foreign monopolies in key areas like intelligent management systems.

It is reported that with the approval to establish this Key Enterprise Laboratory, Big Herdsman will leverage the national-level R&D platform to further focus on breakthrough technologies in the industry. The company aims to deepen the integration of intelligent equipment and digital technology, improve the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of livestock farming, and provide technological support to advance China’s livestock breeding equipment sector as a whole.
